The Advertising module is a built-in way for your site to display banner ads. There are a number of banner ad sizes to choose from. The Advertising module will track how many times each banner ad has been viewed and how many times each ad has been clicked. Each ad will serve as a link to a specific URL, such as another website.

In WebPress, you must add each ad by uploading and image, assigning it a URL, and adding a little more information. Each ad must also be placed in a Zone. You must create a Zone and define where the Zonewill appear on the page - at the top or along the right side of the page. Then you will define the size of images that can appear in that zone. Each ad image must match the size of the zone exactly.

If the image's height and width pixel sizes do not match the zone, the image will not appear on the site. Once you have created a Zone, you may then begin assigning ads to that zone. If you need help resizing an ad to fit a zone, please contact customer support.

If more than one ad are in a single zone, the Advertising module can randomly choose which ad to display in that zone when someone visits that page. It is possible for your users to see one ad in a zone, leave the page, and return to see a different ad image in the same zone.

To see the list of Zones, click Zones under Advertising in the administration menu. Each zone's location and style are displayed. Also, in the far right column is the number of ads in that zone. Clicking the number will display a list of ads in that zone.

To see the full list of Ads, click Advertisements under Advertising in the administration menu. Each ad's Zone is displayed. The list also shows whether the ad is enables, how many times it has been viewed, and how many times it has been clicked. The next column shows the click-through-ratio, which is the number of clicks divided by the number of views.
