Orphaned Articles |
|
Before completely deleting an article, consider making it an Orphaned Article for safe keeping.
Orphaned Articles
- Orphaned articles, also called hidden or detached articles, do not appear anywhere on your site. They're called "orphaned" because they are not set to have a parent article. There are two ways to create orphaned articles:
- Delete an article that has child articles. When the parent is deleted, all its child articles become orphaned.
- Manually, intentionally set an article to be orphaned by setting its parent to "None (Hidden/Detached)".
- Once an article is orphaned, it can be found at the bottom of the list of your current articles in your administration menu.

- Above: an article set to have no parent is orphaned.

- Above: an orphaned article. The red "(detached)" indicates its orphan status. Orphaned articles are always found at the end of your article list.
