Before completely deleting an article, consider making it an Orphaned Article for safe keeping.
Orphaned Articles
Orphaned articles, also called hidden or detached articles, do not appear anywhere on your site. They're called "orphaned" because they are not set to have a parent article. There are two ways to create orphaned articles:
Delete an article that has child articles. When the parent is deleted, all its child articles become orphaned.
Manually, intentionally set an article to be orphaned by setting its parent to "None (Hidden/Detached)".
Once an article is orphaned, it can be found at the bottom of the list of your current articles in your administration menu.
