Using a Splash Page

A Splash Page is a page that your users will see before they see your site's main page. You can create a splash screen to display some content to your users before they enter your site. By default, the Splash Page will contain an "Enter" link that links to your site's main page. Also, by default, once inside your site, your users will not see another link to the Splash Page. The Splash Page begins as a blank page - your site's header graphics, sidemenu, and footer will not appear on the Splash Page.

Creating a Splash Page

FIXME

  • Click Splash Page under Content Pages in the administration menu.

Splash Page Settings

  • Check the box labeled Enable Splash Page. This box must be checked for your splash screen to be visible on your site.
  • If you choose, you may Hide the default "Enter" link. If you hide the "Enter" link, you must manually create a link that points to "home.php". If you need help with this, contact customer support.
  • You can enter a background color for the splash page. Clicking the "Refresh Content" button will allow you to view the content with the new specified background color.

Enter your Splash Page Content

  • Enter Content for your splash screen using the graphical editor. You may format text, insert images, and create links using the editor.
  • If you choose, you may Hide the default "Enter" link. If you hide the "Enter" link, you must manually create a link that points to "home.php". If you need help with this, contact customer support.
  • Note: Using a splash screen is mostly not recommended. It creates one extra click for your users before they even see the main page of your site. If users don't see your "Enter" link right away, they may leave your site. Also, splash screens have been known to confuse search engine robots since they look nothing like the rest of your website.
