Inserting & Editing Tables

 
YourWebPress offers support for both creating and modifying tables within the editor. This functionality dramatically expands your capability to create more dynamic articles, as well as the ability to modify existing tables much easier than before.

Table Icons and their Functions

The table toolbar is pictured above. Following are explanations of its buttons.

Note
When you do not have the option of using one or more of the icons they will appear faded. Only when the icons appear in color will you be able to utilize them.
Show/Hide borders on tables and forms Once this icon is pressed, a faint dashed line will outline all tables and cells within the editor. This is very useful when adding/removing rows and columns.
Insert/Modify Table Using this icon you can create or modify a table. This dialog offers you the ability to adjust padding, width, number of rows/columns, background color, background image, alignment, and border thickness.
Modify Table Cell Using this icon you can create or modify a table. This dialog offers you the ability to adjust padding, width, number of rows/columns, background color, background image, alignment, and border thickness.
Insert new row above current row Place your cursor in the row just below the space in which you would like to add another row. Press this icon to then insert a blank row above your current position.
Insert new row below current row Place your cursor in the row just above the space in which you would like to add another row. Press this icon to then insert a blank row below your current position.
Delete current row Place your cursor in the row you would like to delete. WARNING! All text and graphics within this row will be deleted!
Insert new column before current column Place your cursor in the column just to the right of the space in which you would like to add another column. Press this icon to then insert a blank column to the left of your current position.
Insert new column after current column Place your cursor in the column just to the left of the space in which you would like to add another column. Press this icon to then insert a blank column to the right of your current position.
Delete current column Place your cursor in the column you would like to delete. WARNING! All text and graphics within this column will be deleted!
Merge current cell with surround cells By choosing the amount of cells to the left and below your current position, you can merge the cells and the data they contain into one large cell.
Split current cell into smaller cells You can also split a single table cell that occupies multiple columns and rows into several small cells that only occupy one row and column each.

Tables offer you an endless array of design possibilities. Tables are often an excellent way to organize large amounts of data while maintaining an ordered and appealing style. As seen below, tables can also be used for such small tasks as inserting a photo with a caption below it. (This example uses a center aligned, 1 column, 2 row table with 0 borders and 0 width.)
