While you cannot delete the built-in groups on the site, you can delete groups that you have created. Deleting a Group will not delete the users in that Group and it will remove securiy on Articles and other areas that are assigned to that group. To delete an existing Group:
Click User Groups under User Accounts in the administration menu.
The following page will display the full list of Groups.
Check the box in the Delete column next to each Group you wish to delete.
Click the Delete button above or below the list of Groups.
The following page will display a warning reminding you that the selected Group(s) will be deleted. At this time, you can uncheck any item you do not wish to delete.
Click the Delete button above or below the list to finally delete the checked items.
The following page will dislpay a link back to the list of Groups.
