By default, users have the ability to create their own account on your site. See Site Security for more information. The form on your site can be configured to display and require certain fields. When creating a user account, username, password, first name, last name, and e-mail address are required. The other fields on the form can be enabled and disabled. For example, you can require a phone number from everyone who signs up on your site, or you can prevent users from adding a biography or picture when they sign up. These settings also affect the settings page where users can change their own information after logging in.
Click on User Accounts in the Administration Menu. Next, click on Settings and then Edit next to Account Form Fields.
From there, click on Edit next to any field you want to modify. You can toggle the box next to Enabled to turn that field on or off. You also have the option to make this a required field by checking the box next to Required. You may adjust the sort value for this field. This will change the order of appearance from top to bottom on the Registration Form.
Enter a Field ID. A Field ID is simply the name of your field as it will appear in the Administration Menu. A Field ID may only contain letters, numbers, and underscores. Next, entera Field Title. The Field Title is name of the field as it will appear on the actual Registration Form.
The Options (Text) area allows you to assign selection items to the following field types: Checkbox, Radio, Select. For checkbox, radio, and select field types place each possible value, one per line, in the Options field in the form of "[value]=[caption]" (minus the quotes), where [value] is the actual value of the option and [caption] is the text displayed on the form as either a checkbox/radio caption or a select dropdown entry (depending on the type of input). Only the first line is used for checkboxes.
For example: AR=Arkansas
The Value (Text) area allows you to assign an intial value to a text field. The text you enter into the Value (Text) area will appear as the initial value for that form field. For example, if this field was for a Birthday and you wanted the date in "mm/dd/yyyy" format, you could enter "mm/dd/yyyy" (minus the quotes) into the Value (Text) area and it would appear as the initial value for the Birthday field. Once a user clicks into that field, the "mm/dd/yyyy" initial value will disappear, making it where the user can type into that field.
You can toggle the box next to Enabled to turn that field on or off. You also have the option to make this a required field by checking the box next to Required. You may adjust the sort value for this field. This will change the order of appearance from top to bottom on the Registration Form.
Click on Save at the bottom of the screen to save the changes you have made.
