Cut, Copy, and Paste

  • Cut, copy, and paste buttons are built into the toolbar, and they function the same way they do in most other programs. They also retain the usual keyboard shortcuts:
Cut · Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+X
Copy · Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+C
Paste · Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+V

  • It is possible to manually edit the HTML code of your article. If you are familiar with HTML, Javascript, or CSS, you can manually add this code to the editor's content.
  • Click on the angle brackets to view an edit the HTML code o the editor's contents.
  • Note:
Certain changes may be made to your HTML code after you save it. For example, Internet Explorer may remove quotes in certain places and will convert HTML tags to uppercase, among other possible changes.

Pasting Documents from MS Word and other Sources

  • You can paste content from other sources and keep the formatting. When pasting content from other sources, there are considerations to keep in mind. When pasting content from other sources, you are actually pasting HTML code into the editor. The HTML code may contain references to images that are invalid. It may also contain text formatting code that will cause editing problems.
  • When pasting content from Microsoft Word or other word processors that contain images, the images will not appear but that boxes for the images will appear as broken images. The images in the content must be loaded from your site's file repository before the images will appear properly. Right click one of the images and click Properties. On the dialog box that appears, click Add a new File to manually upload the file from your computer. After you have uploaded the file, choose the file from the list, and click the OK button. You will need to repeat this for each image pasted from the Word document.
  • Pasting content from word processing programs may include HTML code (or other code) that is hard to modify using the editor, and also may not appear properly in all web browsers.
  • To remove proprietary code only used by Microsoft Word, click the icon in the toolbar. This should make the text easier to modify and reformat.
  • To remove all formatting from some text, highlight the text and click the eraser icon in the toolbar. This will remove all HTML formatting from the selected text. Some other formatting may still exist.
  • If you need help moving content from other program into the editor, please contact customer support.
