Create Links

 
The graphical editor provides a way to insert links to other articles on your site, files in your repostiory, and specific URLs on the Web.

Insert / Modify Link

FIXME

  • Type some text into the editor that will appear as the link on the page. Images may be used as well.
  • Highlight the text with your mouse or your keyboard's Shift and arrow keys.

Link to an Article

  • To link to an article, choose the article from the drop-down box labeled Link to an Article.

Link to a File

  • To link to a file in your repository, choose the file from the drop down box labeled Link to a File.
  • If the file you wish to link to is not in the repository, you can add it from your computer.
  • Click the Add new File button. Another dialog box will appear.
  • Click the Browse button to find the file on your computer.
  • Choose a Directory where the new file will be located in your file repository.
  • To add a new Directory to the repository, click Add new Directory.
  • Enter the name of the new Directory you want to create.
  • Choose a parent directory under which the new directory will be located
  • Click the Create button
  • Click the Upload button. After you click the Upload button once, your file will be uploaded. This may take a few moments depending on the size of the file and your connection speed. You will not see any change until the file is uploaded.
  • After the file is uploaded, click Done to return to the original dialog box. Your image will now appear in the list of images in your file repository.

Link to a URL

  • After you have chosen one of these options, the URL for the link will appear in the box labeled Link URL.
  • If you wish to link to a specific page on the Web, enter that URL in the box labeled Link URL. When doing this it is required to include the protocol ("http://" or "ftp://") in the URL. If you do not include this, the link will not function properly.

Link Target

  • Choose a Link Target (optional). The most common options are New Window or Same Window.

Link to a Page Anchor

  • To link to an Anchor elsewhere on the same page, choose Anchor from the drop-down list.
  • Click the OK button.

Removing a Link

  • To remove a link that you have previously created, place your cursor anywhere within the text of the link (or click the image). It is not necessary to highlight the entire link.
  • After you have removed the link, the text will no longer be underlined and the color of the text will return to normal if it had changed.
